Men Needed For Women’s Conference. What?

That’s right. Our ladies are going to have a big weekend at the church, November 7 & 8. WOMEN ONLY, right? Well, almost right. See, we need some husbands of those ladies to serve in some volunteer positions that weekend so that our wives don’t have to work, but can be fully engaged in the experience of the conference.  I could be wrong, of course, but I’m thinking that our wives might think we’re pretty wonderful if we come up and help.

So there are two things that need to happen.
1. Ladies, you need to REGISTER for the conference. Just go to:

2, Men if you’re up for helping out, please let me know ASAP. Just email me at

Here’s a sampling of some of the places to serve:

-Outside: men with parking vest on (around 6:30-7:30)

-Driving Golf Cart to help parking (around 6:30-7:30)

-Volunteers or paid security Fri and Sat (all event)

If you let me know you’re interested, then Tonja Carpenter, Vincent’s wife, will get in touch with you about details.

Thanks a ton, everybody!! I’m praying that this event will be a real life-blesser for our wives!

Photo’s, Anyone?

I thought it would be great to post some Lifegroup Photos on this blog, just for fun. I have to say that I’ve bragged a good bit on the sense of community which so many of our Caleb Zone Lifegroups experience. So maybe it would be cool to sort of “document” that with photos.

For example, here’s a good one from our own Lifegroup taken by Belinda Hester a couple of weeks ago:

Operation Christmas Child

Hey, everybody!

Just a heads-up regarding our Caleb Zone involvement in Operation Christmas Child here. Hopefully you’ve already heard about this in your Lifegroup, but just in case, here goes. We’re encouraging folks in our Lifegroups to pack a box of useful items to contribute to Operation Christmas Child, which is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Here’s the website so you can learn all about it.

Keith and Laura Wilhite, who are Caleb Lifegroup Leaders, were given lots and lots of boot boxes to be used for this purpose. This coming Sunday, Oct. 12, they will have a trailer full of empty boxes parked right behind our ACC Office Building (Fort Street side). If you’d like to participate in Operation Christmas Child, please come and get a box or two and follow the instructions on the website above.

Lots of needy kiddos all over the world are going to get blessed BIG TIME this Christmas as we participate in this outreach. So come get some boxes and go for it!
